Their lamps are available in laminated black, laminated white, the natural birth the brand is known for as well as with an outer veneer of walnut.
PEFC stands for Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. The program exists to ensure that forests are managed in a controlled and sustainable manner.
Responsibility, trust and development. These are the core values of Secto Design. Their products are made exclusively in Finland, despite the high cost of labour and production. They have also deliberately chosen to open factories in Heinola, a city that struggled with a declining population and a high unemployment rate. Secto Design’s actions have proven to have had a positive effect on the social economic conditions of the city; a testament to how the core values of Secto Design are far more than just words.
In 1995, the brand Secto Design was founded by Tuula Jusélius. That same year Secto Design initiated a collaboration with architect and interior designer Seppo Koho. A mutual respect for Nordic trees and woodwork was found, and the foundation for the woodwork and craftsmanship that would become a staple of the brand was laid.
