The Danish brand OXDENMARQ has been producing beautiful armchairs and coffee tables of high quality since 2003. Manufacturing affordable furniture from exclusive materials has been one of the core values from the start for OXDENMARQ. The products in the assortment are primarily made of leather, often combined with steel or wood. In addition to these materials, marble and brass have also been incorporated – all materials are carefully selected and are meant to last a lifetime.
The first part of the name OX DENMARQ is a tribute to the material that makes up a large part of the products, namely leather. The second part of the name is a combination of the home country Denmark and the surname of the brand’s co-founder, Dennis Marquart.
The brand operates from a Danish design tradition with high-quality materials and skilled craftsmen from Spain and Denmark. Common to all OXDENMARQ products is that they have an airy and minimalist expression whose materials over time gain a beautiful patina.
As one of the few Danish furniture manufacturers, OXDENMARQ has chosen to place a large part of its production in Denmark. The designer and co-founder Dennis Marquart is trained as a blacksmith, which has been very useful in connection with product development as he often creates the prototypes for the new products himself.
The main materials in OXDENMARQ products are:
Ox leather is the cornerstone of most of OXDENMARQ’s furniture. All leather is naturally tanned with an untreated surface, which means that the leather will gain a beautiful patina over time and use.
The leather mostly comes from Spain where the animals have roamed freely. Signs of this can be seen in the leather in the form of scars or insect bites, which add even more character to the product. Since leather is a natural material that varies in appearance depending on the season, origin, and age of the animal, each product will have a completely unique appearance.
To extend the lifespan and maintain the suppleness of the leather, it is recommended to regularly treat the product with leather care products.
The marble products are very sensitive to acid, and the use of coasters is therefore recommended. The marble slabs are given a protective base treatment in the factory, and continued maintenance by the end-user is recommended. The matte marble should not be polished but only cleaned with neutral soap.
