The handmade storage baskets by the Swedish brand Korbo have a long rooted history that stretches back until the 1920s. Back then, the baskets were mainly used by fishers, farmers and workers who needed durable, reliable baskets that stood the test of time, wind and weather. Today, the Korbo baskets are just as durable, qualitative and have even made it in the design world.
Korbo was founded by Per Persson in 2006 when he came across an old basket maker. He had the idea of marketing his qualitative baskets and making them an interior detail. An idea that turned into success.
The baskets are still made by hand, just as they were in 1920. They are woven with long steel wire, without any welding. This technique creates an incredibly durable basket due to the sheer fact that no parts can break or disconnect from the basket itself.
Korbo baskets are still as functional as ever, but have gone from a necessity, so a practical interior detail for both indoor and outdoor use. Use your Korbo to fill with your garden apples, fire wood or leaves outdoors, or bring the basket inside and store extra blankets, magazines or even laundry in it.
