About AlmedahlsAlmedahls manufactures fabrics, textiles and home interior decorated with modern takes on classic Swedish designs. Almedahls revamps and updates some of Sweden’s most beloved patterns such as ’Surt sa räven’, ‘Picknick’ and ‘Persson’s kryddskåp’, and brings them back to life with new colours and materials.
Almedahls was founded in 1846 by the merchant Hans H. Wesslau, with the mission to produce exclusive and qualitative linen fabrics – a concept that has proven extremely successful. By the turn of the century Almedahls accounted for half of Sweden’s linen production.
Through the years, Almedahls started adding other materials to the production and is one of the leading textile producers in Europe. With a sustainable production approach, Almedahls still emphases quality, as they did 170 years ago.
Almedahls has worked with designers including Marianne Westkman, Josef Frank and Astrid Sampe, creating and reinventing Swedish pattern classics.
