Together Moomin mug 2021

The Together Moomin Mug from Arabia is this year's seasonal mug for the summer of 2021. The motif on the Moomin mug is based on Tove Jansson's Moomin family series Moomin's on the Riviera. The mug conveys the same summery feeling we recognise from the 2019 seasonal series Evening Swim, both in terms of illustration and color scale. Illustrator Tove Slotte has given color to Tove Jansson's black and white series and adapted the motif for this lovely Moomin mug.

The Moomin family are living a bohemian beach life and on the Moomin mug Together we see Moominmamma frying pancakes while Moominpappa is playing solitaire and Snorkmaiden is reading a good book. The money that Snorkmaiden won at the casino has run out, so instead of living a luxury life in a hotel, the Moomin family must sleep on the beach under a boat. The boat is letting the rain in and it is so cold at night that the Moomin family need to wear woolen trousers.
