This lovely teacup and saucer is part of the Blue Italian Series by Spode. The 20-cl mug is made from stunning blue and white porcelain, a material first manufactured in England in 1816 where it was adorned with various motifs of the Italian countryside. The border of the pieces came to take on an Imari Oriental pattern as an elegant border for the artistic renderings within.
