The Unikkko coffee cup 20 cl by Marimekko was designed by Sami Ruotsalainen with a pattern by Maija Isola. The Unikko pattern was designed in 1964 and has become somewhat of a hallmark pattern for Marimekko and can be found on a number of Marimekko products. And even though Marimekko’s founder Armi Ratia banned floral designs from Marimekko designs, Maija Isola managed to convince her of the Unikko design. And we’re glad she did!
