The Simona flower pot Ø12 cm from Bergs Potter is a small and striking planter crafted from premium Italian clay. Each piece has been made by hand to ensure a planter of unparalleled quality. The special clay allows the roots of the plant to grow and breathe while also retaining the optimal amount of moisture in the soil — plus because of the high density of the clay, the Simona pot is extremely frost resistant. The accompanying saucer also features a special silicone treatment on the interior that renders the pot virtually waterproof, allowing you to use it both indoors and out. The unglazed body of the clay pot will gracefully mature and age over time, eventually acquiring a radiant patinated surface that gives each piece a unique and expressive look. The planter is also sometimes called La Petite Française, also known as The Little French: the original design was first created in the Latin Quarter of Paris and it has since become a mainstay in countless Parisian homes since the middle of the 19th century. The Berg family discovered such a pot at a flea market in Montmartre — they were so taken with the planter that they now produce their very own version in a small village in the heart of Tuscany.
