A Christmas cracker is a given on any Christmas table in the UK but making your own Christmas crackers really does add a more personal touch.
As any Brit knows Christmas is hardly complete without a cracker on the table. Traditionally filled with a paper hat, a joke, and a small gift the wonderful thing about making your own Christmas crackers is that you can fill them with whatever you like or even personalise them to each guest!
You need:
How to:
To make Christmas crackers, you need scissors, toilet rolls, string, paper of your choice and a sprig of pine, star anise or cinnamon stick as decoration.
Step 1: Cut your paper into a rectangle roughly 30 x 20cm.
Step 2: Place the toilet roll in the middle of paper and roll the paper around the toilet roll. Tape the paper into place if you need to.
Step 3: Tie one end of the Christmas cracker shut with a piece of string or lace.
Step 4: Put a small surprise in the Cracker, such as a piece of candy, Christmas tree decoration or a personalised gift for each of your guests. Then tie the other end shut in the same way.
Step 5: Finally, decorate your Christmas cracker with star anise, a cinnamon stick or whatever you prefer. Now the Christmas cracker is ready!
Making Christmas crackers is a perfectly simple Christmas craft to do with all the family and adds a truly personal touch to the Christmas table.
We hope your guests will appreciate that you made your very own Christmas crackers this year! Merry Christmas from us to you!
