Olle Eksell is considered one of the first modern graphic designers in Sweden. He embodied creativity and loved his profession. Over the years, he has developed countless designs that alternate between the crazy, imaginative and the geometric abstract.
Already at the age of 14, Olle Eksell decided to become an advertising designer. After training for the cartoonist and graphic designer, Olle Eksell got a job at the Ervaco advertising agency where he also met his wife and life mate Ruthel Eksell. After the couple got married, they took the boat to the United States to study design at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.
After the studies, Olle Eksell worked for several different companies and he certainly made a big impression in Swedish advertising history. Most famously he created the Mazettis design program 1956; a pair of graphic eyes for Mazetti's cocoa packaging, which managed to reverse the negative sales trend of the company. Today, the "Cacao" eyes are a true design classic, just like many others by Olle Eksell's motive.
