Louise Adelborg studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, working for both Rörstrand and Almedahls after her studies. Since she had a passion for embroidery, she also designed several fabrics that were used in church.
Louise Adelborg had her first breakthrough with the design of the vase by the name of “Vase”, but is probably most known for designing the popular Swedish porcelain range, Swedish Grace. The Swedish Grace range was first presented in Stockholm in 1930 and has come to be one of Rörstrand’s most important product ranges. Both the Vase vase and the Swedish Grace range are designed with a beautiful sober relief pattern, which has become somewhat of a signature design for Louise Adelborg porcelain. Her designs were often directly inspired by the beauty of the Swedish nature.
