Kati Tuominen-Niittylä

Kati Tuominen-Niittylä is one of the first names that comes to mind when speaking of Fiinnish cermic design. She has had her own ateljé at Arabia since the 1980’s, and has designed both unique design objects and whole tableware ranges. Together with Kristina Riska, she designed the iconic KoKo range. The simple, timeless porcelain range is right in line with her classic, minimalistic style. In contrast to the colorful KoKo range, her other designs are usually kept in earthy, neutral tones.

In recent years, she has become an internationally renowned designer, with numerous exhibitions in Japan and Korea. On top of that, she has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Kaj Franck prize.
