The traditional Dala horse originates from Swedish pastoral culture and it has been lovingly manufactured all over the country since the 17th century, usually in wood. This particular Dala horse sculpture from Målerås Glasbruk eschews the traditional wooden construction and recasts cultural icon in stunning blue glass. The piece was handmade from crystal glass that was then sandblasted and meticulously hand-painted in an elegant design by Robert Ljubez.
