This large and lovely buffet plate is part of the gorgeous Blue Italian Series by Spode. A truly excellent serving dish for all manner of savoury entrées and speciality dishes. The plate is made from stunning blue and white porcelain, a material first manufactured in England in 1816 where it was adorned with various motifs of the Italian countryside. The border of the pieces came to take on an Imari Oriental pattern as an elegant border for the artistic renderings within.
