The knife should never be loose in a drawer or container because it damages the blade. Keep the knife in a knife block or on a magnetic strip.
Choose the cutting surface with care. Never cut directly on the sink. Use a wooden cutting board but plastic is also good. Avoid marble cutting boards.
Never cut into bones or frozen foods with a quality knife. It can damage the blade.
Always wash the knife under running luke-warm water inbetween different cutting surfaces.
The knife should be washed and dried dry with a towel after every use.
