Eclectic towns, leafy forests, happy tigers and proud sailors - the Danish illustrator Michelle Carlsund creates environmentally friendly posters with strong colours and playful images.
Michelle Carlsund was educated in graphic design and has owned her own business, Michelle Carlsund Illustration since 2013. She sees herself as a mix between an adult and a child and wants her illustrations to depict the playfulness of adults whose life is characterised by work, stress and responsibility. Her illustrations are imaginative and often have weird details that make people think twice, such as her illustrations of people with only 4 fingers.
All posters are pressed on environmentally friendly stone paper made of limestone and with an oil based, non-toxic binder called HDPE. The production of this type of paper emits half the amount of carbon dioxide as traditional paper. In addition, the stone paper has a beautiful retro look that makes an interesting contrast to the colourful motifs.
