Vihkiruusu placemat 31x42 cm

The Vihkiruusu placemat 31x42 cm from the Finnish brand Marimekko brings your table setting to life with its array of cheerful colours and gorgeous floral print. The placemat bears the striking Vihkiruusu pattern, a design originally conceived by Maija Isola in 1964. However, Marimekko's founder, Armi Ratia, had recently announced an all-out ban on floral patterns: despite this, Maija Isola managed to persuade her with the stylish print. Upon seeing her work, Armi Ratia sought to include eight of Maija’s designs as part of Marimekko's various collections, including the highly distinguished Vihkiruusu pattern.
