The Vihkiruusu kitchen towel from the Finnish brand Marimekko evokes a colourful and cheerful expression in the kitchen with its floral pattern full of blooming plants and vibrant leaves. The Vihkiruusu pattern was originally designed by Maija Isola in 1964, but by this time Marimekko's founder, Armi Ratia, had already announced an all-out ban on floral patterns. Despite this, Maija Isola managed to persuade her with the stylish print: seeing her work, Armi Ratia sought to include eight of Maija’s designs as part of Marimekko's various collections, including the Vihkiruusu pattern.
