Sääpäiväkirja pitcher

The Sääpäiväkirja pitcher was designed by Aino-Maija Metsola for the Finnish brand Marimekko. Marimekko often names their products and ranges with Finnish names, and even though these are near to impossible for a non-Finn to pronounce, they often tell a story of the inspiration for the design. Sääpäiväkirja, for instance, roughly translates to Weather Diary. All pieces of the range take inspiration from different weather phenomena, ranging from the golden hue the early morning sun casts, to the windy and stormy seas and misty archipelago. The pitcher holds a generous 1.25 l. and is a lovely pop of color of the kitchen table.
