The Ancestor jar from Arabia was designed by Tove Slotte-Elevant with the Tove Jansson’s iconic Moomin characters from the Moomin tales. The Ancestor is a mysterious, fluffy little character in the Moomin tales, who lives behind the stove. We met him for the first time in the “Moominland Midwinter” book from 1957, where he appears at night and moves around the furniture in the Moomin family home.
